Lobo provides flexible dual 600MB/s digital interface to Virtex-II and TMS320C6713 DSP on PCI card with powerful built-in pattern generation agility.

The Matador family keeps expanding! Lobo is our latest card with ultra-fast digital interfaces and hardware processing capability in a Virtex-II FPGA linked to the C6713 DSP. Lobo features two 100-pin Phantom ports, configured by default as 44 LVDS pairs straight to the Virtex-II, offering 600MB/s burst rate. With reconfigurable firmware and mezzanine expansion cards, the Phantom sites offer unlimited flexibility to accommodate any type of digital interface or hardware-assisted processing. Supported applications include ChanneLink, FPDP and LVDS DIO.

With 8MB of DDR private memory for the FPGA, Lobo can capture data at full port rate and perform large block-processing at amazing speed. The FPGA and DSP are closely integrated with a 400MB/s burst interface. Lobo also offers amazing flexibility in playback mode to provide extremely agile pattern generation and can dynamically store and play different patterns, with branch-off conditions such as hardware counters, external interrupts or software commands! Packed with innovative features, Lobo is perfect for communication hardware test equipment, high-end digital capture, agile pattern generators, remote analog capture or control and communication signal co-processing.

CompactPCI comes to Conejo! Provides hot-swappable C6713 DSP with 4 simultaneous 14-bit A/D and 16-bit D/A at 10MSPS.

The Conejo design is now available for CompactPCI 32 or 64-bit, 33MHz, with PXI triggering and hot-swap support. Similar to its PCI brother Conejo, CompactConejo features (4) simultaneous input channels at 10MSPS with unrivaled triggering flexibility. Analog converter timebases as well as start- and stop-triggers can be selected from a wide choice of signals and shared among multiple cards. Conejo provides PCI-bus star and trigger signal access and can even source these signals, while an on-board analog comparator allows threshold triggering.

Repeated frame capture is extremely simple to setup via software. On-board 6-pole anti-alias filters are standard. CompactConejo's four DAC output channels provide 16-bit resolution at 15MSPS each, but two channels can stream at 30MSPS or a single channel at 50MSPS. Interfaces are optimized for low latency and high data rates and DSP/BIOS drivers are provided to guarantee the best CPU and bus bandwidth utilization. Many system-level features come standard: 64-bit user digital IO, external data port and multi-board synchronization. As for the new evolutions, CompactConejo features the new TMS320C6713 DSP, which is 50% faster than the C6711 and has a large 256kB on-chip memory with the proven two-level cache controller architecture. CompactConejo is the board-level solution for data capture/playback and co-processing for high-performance systems in the fields of RADAR, optics control, ultra-fast servo, waveform generation, semiconductor testing, communication hardware testing, electronic warfare and custom video.

New Linux support now available!
Device driver and C++ interface library for II DSP boards

Until now, developing Linux applications that interfaced to a DSP board meant developing a custom device driver and interface library from scratch. With the new DspClix component suite, from Innovative Integration, you can use all the power of an Innovative DSP board integrated into Borland's Kylix point and click, visual environment for developing Linux applications. When combined with all of the other powerful visual graphing, analysis and display components available within Kylix, powerful DSP-based applications can be pieced together in hours instead of weeks or months.

Software tools and documentation that make your project successful

Before committing to a DSP board purchase, don't forget to compare the software support and hardware documentation provided by different board vendors. Innovative Integration knows that this aspect is key to a successful, efficient implementation. That's why we strive to provide our customers with best-in-class software tools and hardware documentation. One reason many developers buy off-the-shelf boards is to save time and focus their efforts on their specific application rather than designing specialty hardware. But finding the board with the right feature set is only half the battle. Controlling it and integrating it can be very challenging. A board provided with minimum software support (driver/ DLL, very basic SW examples) and short documents (memory map) forces the user to reverse engineer the product by experimentation so that he/she can fully exploit its features. Innovative Integration goes much further with its Zuma and Pismo toolsets. These packages provide extensive libraries in source form, practical tools, diagnostic utilities, sophisticated code examples with comments, complete manuals and on-line help files, allowing you to be productive from day one.

Uniterminal - A DSP Console, running on the PC, to facilitate diagnostics and jumpstart target code development.

All DSP applications require a target-side (DSP) program. Most applications require a host-side program (usually a Windows application) to handle the user interface, data post-processing or some high system-level control functions. These two programs need to have a solid handshake to stay in sync and accomplish their respective task. At the beginning of a project, tackling both sides concurrently is difficult. While Code Composer Studio is the obvious choice for DSP code editing, compiling and low-level debugging, it lacks flexibility and is not easy to configure for simple messaging. Uniterminal allows the developer to immediately begin target code development. A simple yet powerful DSP terminal emulator, Uniterminal communicates with the target program over the PCI bus (or USB for a stand-alone board) and incorporates single-click functions for target boot-up and reset, coff file downloading and coff memory dump. Best of all, no JTAG is required!

This means that the DSP programmer can immediately run and debug sophisticated DSP programs and view/analyze captured data without writing ANY host code. Most of our customers begin their project by running and studying the DSP code examples that we provide, under Uniterminal. Right after installation, the user can launch Uniterminal, browse to the precompiled DSP app, download it and run it. From then on, they add their specific code to build the functionalities they seek, compile it and run it in this console mode. Uniterminal accommodates powerful console I/O (stdio) like scanf() and printf() for getting keyboard entry and dynamic string displaying, permits easy, dynamic file I/O and offers real-time graphics by invoking our powerful data viewing/analysis tool called BinView. Uniterminal is fast, high-bandwidth, flexible and extremely easy to exploit. Programmers might compare it to a DOS console application since it uses classic C syntax: no complex environment, no hidden configuration screens, no foreign syntax. Uniterminal is often used for high-level debugging like non-intrusive real-time tracing since messaging can be handled by a low priority thread.

Uniterminal does not require a JTAG but can be launched in conjunction with Code Composer Studio. This means no restrictions and a valuable tool to partition complex development programs into different groups. Code can be distributed and run without debugging tools. Furthermore, since it has built-in reset and boot-up commands, it is a valuable diagnostic tool for troubleshooting and is a great tool for team work since code snippets can easily be exchanged between users or with our engineering support group.

Uniterminal: Be productive from day one in your next DSP project!

Uniterminal is part of every software toolkit which is provided free of charge with the purchase of any board.
