Innovative announces QUADIA, the most powerful COTS DSP board

Quadia is a quad-C6416 DSP, dual Spartan-3 FPGA, dual PMC sites, 64/66 cPCI board with an innovative architecture providing unmatched device connectivity and the fastest external interfaces available today, to deliver blazing performance and extreme flexibility for advanced real time applications. DSPs are split in two independent clusters each hosting a PMC site with direct Jn4 link to a digital I/O of a large Spartan-3 FPGA for end-user code, while a central Velocia FPGA provides ultra-fast, FIFO-based, intra-board communication as well as external rocket IO ports. Quadia is an ideal platform for integrating high-speed signal processing and I/O into advanced data acquisition and real-time applications such as digital radio, RADAR, SONAR, video and high-end test equipment.

Boeing selects Quixote DSP/FPGA board for JTRS tactical radio proof-of-concept

Boeing Integrated Defense Systems in Anaheim, CA uses Innovative's Quixote DSP/FPGA board for developing a new waveform physical layer using OFDM modulation in a new wideband radio for the Joint Tactical Radio Systems DoD initiative. "Quixote is a nice hardware integration, it provides all the hardware functions we required for this phase of the program on one single 6U card, IF analog I/O to our RF stage, a very large FPGA, TI's new C6416 for implementing our advanced signal processing algorithms and a fast PCI interface to our chassis" says Darryl Price, Boeing System Engineer. "Innovative's Pismo software and firmware tools have also proven to be a solid foundation from which to build our specific set of radio functions, in a completely open environment. We share this same Quixote platform with our sub-contractors". Quixote provides dual 105MSPS analog I/O with a very stable PLL clock, a Virtex-II FPGA with up to 8Million gates and 8MB ZBT private RAM, one 720MHz C6416 DSP and a 64/44 PCI bridge. Quixote also features a PMC site which has 72 pins connected straight to the FPGA for ultra-fast I/O expansion, a 40-bit user DIO port and a PICMG2.17 Starfabric interface to provide further system scalability. For rapid application development, Quixote ships with the Pismo software toolset. This comprehensive, state-of-the art collection of software libraries and utilities provides a strong software and firmware foundation that accelerates end-user application development.
