I am driving channel 0 of X3-SD single ended with a sinusoid. The beginning of each collection displays a ramp at the start of every collection, which results in a huge dc offset. This ramp can last 100 ms or more and happens on every collection. Is this an expected part of the collection process?

As streaming commences, the X3-SD A/Ds and amps are powered-up. The ramping up is a manifestation of this. So, this is normal.
This could be eliminated by delaying the trigger after stream start to allow the A/Ds to stabilize before data acquisition commences. To achieve this, alter the HandleTimer method in the Snap example or apply an external trigger which fires after streaming starts.
