|
|
Hi,
I have just started working on X6-400M and wanted to check the board in hwcosim. For that I used a very simple model. The data is passed from Simulink to FPGA using gateway in and after addition in FPGA is dumped to Matlab variable using gateway out. The problem is that after downloading the bits to FPGA when i run the model in hwcosim, i just received zeros while without hwcosim simulink shows the correct result.
My question is: do i need to add something else to my model? Currently the hwcosim model consist of gateway in, adder, gateway out and system generator tokem.
It would be great help if you can attach a simple hwcosim working model (e.g: just sending and receiving data).

Could you post your design please?
Thanks,

Hi Billy,
I have attached the original model, hwcosim model and bit file. In this simple model, I am just adding two numbers (2 and 3), when i download the bit stream to X6_400M and run simulation, in the display its all zeros instead of 5.
Hope you can suggest something.

One more thing, i can see that Fixed point Toolbox is missing in my matlab. Is it necessary to run hwcosim model?

Syedbilal,
The sample period in "gateway in" shall be the system clock, Ts=1/200e6 for example.
Please also set the right clock in Xilinx token -> clocking -> simulink system period.
Please try it again.
I saw you remove all our BSP interface components and that may cause problems. I suggest to put the adder in default example and compile it.

Hi Billy,
I did the changes as you told me but the problem is still there. I can not see the output in simulink. You can see the models in the attached file. I am using the MATLAB 2010b on Windows 7 64 bit. Do you think that operating system or version could be the problem? but the compilation and bit generation process run smoothly.

I mean after loading the bit stream on FPGA, I can not see the output in Display block. _________________ Bilal Hussain

Dear Billy,
I have the same problem when i implemented the dio model in the Example folder of X6-400M. I didnot change anything and just generated the bit stream and downloaded it. After running the model
"x6_400m_dio_hwcosim.mdl", i can only see 0's.
What I understand from this example is that if we set the corresponding DIO pin from MATLAB, it should be set on the board. If i am write then can i see the voltage at the corresponding DIO pin using digital multimeter while this model is running in hwcosim.

Hi Billy,
I am still waiting for the reply. Have you checked the models that I have sent you. The bit files are also attached with them.
