Runtime error (MS Visual C++)

Hi,



I used a default simulink example to generate a hw co-sim library block. This worked fine.

Subsequently, I used this block within a basic simulation environment (only scope as output). After clicking on "Start simulation" in the model, a window popped up with the title: "JTAG Hardware Co-simulation". Content: "Initializing JTAG Hardware Co-simulation Status: Loading JTAG driver".

After a certain while the below described error message appears and MATLAB terminates.

We de-installed MS Visual C++; no success.
We updates the graphic card driver; no success.
We tired the hint from your message board (http://forums.xilinx.com/xlnx/board/message?board.id=DS
PTOOL&thread.id=2018); no success.
We installed the newest java version; no success.
We contacted Xilinx; they could not help us.

What shall I try/do/install?

Hi Kai,
It seems like you are not using the right s/w toolset.

If you are using ISE 11.3 then, the correct toolset is

● Microsoft Windows XP professional Sp2
● One of the following versions of MATLAB from Mathworks Inc.
1. Matlab 7.8 (R2009a) /Simulink V7.3 (R2009a)
2. Matlab 7.9 (R2009b) /Simulink V7.4(R2009b)
Note : Matlab/Simulink must be installed in a directory with no spaces
● Xilinx System Generator 11.3
● Xilinx ISE Foundation 11.3 or later along with ISE simulator
Some other features in System Generator require following software components to be installed:
● HDL simulator required for HDL cosimulation using Xilinx System Generator and Simulink.System Generator
HDL co-simulation interfaces are compatible with Xilinx ISE Simulator, ModelSim Xilinx Edition MXE (an option
with ISE Foundation) and ModelSim PE or SE, version v6.5b or later, from Model Technology Inc.
● Xilinx Chipscope Pro 11.1 is required for on chip debugging
Note: Please make sure that Microsoft windows Environment variable $Xilinx must be set and point to your ISE software
installation directory. Any new further updates may be downloaded from Xilinx Download center.
