I tried to install the UWB for the first time this morning using a PCI adapter card. I downloaded the InstallFromWeb application and received all of the UWB installers. I then proceeded to run UWB.exe which went through each of the component installs. For some reason it was hanging on the install of Malibu. I reran the install application and chose to install only the UWB drivers, after which I shutdown, seated the PCI adapter w/ UWB, and booted Windows XP Pro. Upon boot it confronted me to install drivers for an unknown PCI device. I cancelled, shutdown, removed the card and repeated this process with no success.

The CD that came with the UWB did not have the UWB device install options, so I assumed that the InstallFromWeb was the way to go...

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
-Brandon

Hi Brandon
First let me say sorry for the install.
The automated install did not download the Malibu Development Library. Please you restart your II web installer and select "Malibu Development Library" from the list. Download this into the same directory as the other UWB install. Now start the UWB.exe. this will now install all of the items and the drivers are included. From what I see you have the zip of drivers downloaded now and could unzip them but there would be missing Dlls.

On the CD the auto run does not have the UWB in a button yet. The pre-release of files should be on the CD if you use a Explorer to find the directory. You can run the UWB.exe from there and it also should install.

Respectfully Gary

Gary,

Thanks, that did the trick. I did notice the UWB directory in there and I ended up running the app, but it looked the same as InstallFromWeb download, which I assumed would be more up to date, but oh well!

I tried running the LogicLoader app at first, and it proceeded to complain to me about IPPS20.dll. I did a search for that and it seemed to have been installed in the Innovative directory, so I added it to my path and it fixed the problem. Should the install have taken care of this? Maybe something to note...

Ok, now where do I go from here. I saw the Malibu VC7/8 projects, of which I converted to VC6, because that is what we are using atm... I noticed there are some UWB example projects for Borland Builder, but none for VC that I saw. What about the testbed application? I can't seem to get that to work (complains about not being able to save a data file).

As a baseline I'd like to be able to capture raw A/D data and transfer over to the host. Eventually I plan on modifying the hdl to include some DSP functionality.

I'll poke around source code in the mean time...

Much thanks,
-Brandon

On the not being able to save a file check the Attributes of the BDD and BIN files on your computer to make sure they are not read only. Some of the files were put out with read only on them and this needs to be removed.

Yeah, earlier Pumeet helped me figure out how to get it working. It's good to see it capturing data!

Thanks,
-Brandon
